Stripe is an online payments provider, headquartered in San Francisco. They handle billions of dollars/pounds/euros of payments for Internet-based businesses around the world.

We chose Stripe because:

• They offer Level 1 PCI Compliance, which is the most stringent level of certification
• They store our customers' credit card details for us, so we do not need to store them ourselves
• All transactions are processed over a secure connection, meaning data is encrypted as it passes over the Internet
