This article explains how to export your player database from Pianola to Scorebridge. Before you do so, it's vital that you backup your existing Scorebridge database in case you need to revert to it later.
Backup
Scorebridge holds your players' data in a file called Players.txt which you should find in this location:
C:\BridgeData\Name-of-your-club
Locate this file and rename it so that it will not be overwritten when you replace it with a file of the same name from Pianola.
Export from Pianola
Login to Pianola and go to Admin > Members > Export
Choose the 'Export to Scorebridge' option.
Pianola will not export any records where:
- The national number (EBU, ABF, SBU) is not unique
- The local number is missing or not unique
- The name is incomplete
- The player is marked as having passed away
You can view the records that will not be exported and the reasons why. It's important to check that all the records you want to export are i going to be included.
Pianola will mark people as visitors in Scorebridge if they:
- Have the membership category of Visitor; or
- They have left the club
Check the box to confirm you have backed up your existing data and then click 'Export'.
Import to Scorebridge
Locate the file you just downloaded and move it to the same directory on your PC as your original Player.txt file.
Open Scorebridge and check your player database is populated with the records you expected.
